She is currently developing her feature project, 'Salt', which is a recipient of the SFFilm Westridge Grant. Her work has also been featured on NPR, BOMB Magazine, the Indian Express, and Platform Mag among others. Her short film 'Anita' premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2020 and was acquired by Focus Features and Canal+. Sushma was recently listed in Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Film” (2021) and was one of "12 Filmmakers to Watch" as the finalist for Lynn Shelton’s "Of a Certain Age" grant. Madelyn was not quite 13 years old.Born in India, Sushma is a writer/director based in New York City. Madelyn and Rebecca signed their first publishing contract for Sara Jane is a Pain in March 2011. Rebecca's career has spanned from on-air radio personality, television camera operator, script editor, assistant producer, and Human Resource professional at one of the leading trauma and research hospitals in the nation. She has a passion for transporting readers into a great story and introducing them to characters who will make you laugh, cry and inspire. Her short screenplay, Wrong Number Right Day, won the 2015 Project Famous Screenplay competition and was produced by Project Famous Films. Her screenplays have achieved finalist rank in national and international contests. Rebecca enjoys writing screenplays as well as short stories and novels. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Carroll University, Madelyn has dual degrees in English - Professional Writing and Psychology. They were surprised and humbled to have their third book, Moving Out and Moving On receive the 2013 Tofte Wright Children's Literature Award from the Council of Wisconsin Writers. Together, the mother-daughter team co-wrote the heartwarming, humorous and reality-based middle grade/Young Adult book series, “The Tale of Two Sisters” for Little Creek Books ( d/b/a Jan-Carol Publishing. During High School, she spent her summers volunteering on a Farm Animal Sanctuary and caring for goats, llamas, pigs (some REALLY BIG sows), ducks, donkeys, cats and chickens. Madelyn had a love for writing beginning at age five. Madelyn Spindler was eleven years old when she was inspired to write the first book in the series with her mother, Rebecca Williams Spindler. The “Tale of Two Sisters” series ( Sara Jane Is a Pain, Life According to Liz, Moving Out and Moving On) features eleven-year-old Liz McCormick, a tomboy growing up on her family’s farm in the rolling hills of Wisconsin.
